Class Saints

At St John the Evangelist Catholic Primary, each class has a Class Saint, linked to a virtue that the Saint displayed. 

In Reception Class, the class Saint is St Bernadette.

Their Learning Virtue is LOVE because St Bernadette first and foremost believed that 'God is love' - John 4:8

In Year One, the class Saint is St Patrick.

 

Their Learning Virtue is FAITHFULNESS because St Patrick showed great faith by introducing Christianity to Ireland.

In Year Two, St Therese of Lisieux (the 'Little Flower') is the class Saint.

 

Year Two's Learning Virtue is HOPE because St Therese gave people hope and showed love and kindness to everyone.  

Year Three have St Vincent de Paul as their class Saint.

 

Year Three's Learning Virtue is GENEROSITY, as St Vincent de Paul devoted his life to helping the poor.

In Year 4, their class Saint is St Francis.  

St Francis was known for his GENTLENESS and love of animals. This is Year 4's class Learning Virtue. 

 

St Paul is Year 5's class Saint.

Year 5's Learning Virtue is REFLECTION. St Paul reflected on his actions to become a kinder person and showed courage to change his ways. 

Year 6 look at St Joan of Arc as their class Saint.

St Joan of Arc fought and died for her faith. She said 'Go forth bravely. Fear nothing. Trust in God.' Year 6's Learning Virtue is RESILIENCE that St Joan of Arc displayed.
